The Pelangi Concept of and island off the island was created by the concept architects for Pelangi, Christo Botha and Frik Wagenaar in collaboration with Boogertman & Partners. Although the project was never built in Mauritius due to land and lease issues the project reveals a masterfully designed of a self-sustained resort.
The design of the Hotel draws inspiration from the natural world, with the form of building mirroring the elegant arch of a palm leaf. This shape is emulated by n glass roof which floats above the main spine of the building. The hotel offered a choice of dining experiences, a double level all day ding facility facing the pool with the ocean as backdrop. A beachfront restaurant, commercial spaces, VIP Villas, Beachfront Villas, Vacation Club- and Marina Condominiums, outdoor entertainment, and pools running through the development.
